Congratulations on the purchase of your brand new Fox Labs Pepper Spray!
We wanted to present this guide breaking down what the date on the pepper spray means, a lot of the time there seems to be confusion surrounding the date, how to read it, and what it means.
We've highlighted below to find the date, how to determine when your pepper spray was made, and when it will expire.
1. Locating the date on your pepper spray.
On the pepper spray, there will be two sets of yellow printed numbers/letters. One notes the item number, for my example that item number is 32FTMDB, the other tells you the date the item was made on.
I've included an example of the two numbers below.
2. Understanding the date.
So now that you have located the date we want to establish what it means. This date is the date the pepper spray was made on, not the expiration date. Due to how many companies operate there tends to be some confusion, if you have a Fox Labs spray and it says it’s from last month don’t worry. That just means it was made last month, it is not expired. Fox Labs sprays expire 3 years from the date listed.
3. How to read the date.
This may seem a bit basic but we do get this question quite often, I’ve included a picture below that will help break down how to figure out the date your spray was made on.
It’s a pretty simple setup but due to the fact that there are no real dividing lines, it can be a bit hard to parse if you don’t know what you’re looking for.
