Canceled Orders due to Fraud

Here at THE HOME SECURITY SUPERSTORE, we work with a sophisticated, multinational fraud detection service called Signifyd. This service maintains a database and has access to other databases that maintain customer order history as it relates to fraudulent activity. They monitor every order we receive to ensure that the order is not being placed with someone else's credit card.

Although rare, orders that Signifyd cancels are due to the following reasons:

  • Multiple instances of Chargebacks
  • IP address used to place an order is linked to past fraudulent orders
  • Email address used to place an order is linked to past fraudulent orders
  • The delivery address has no connection to the cardholder
  • General fraud checks (billing and shipping address, wrong names on cards, incorrect security codes, etc)

When situations like this come up, we will reach out to the customer and let them know what is going on and try to acquire additional or corrected information to ensure that the order can be charged and shipped properly. Sometimes, this process has flukes and will flag orders that are fine and will not let them pass. In situations like these, we will gladly work with our customers to set up different forms of payment (PayPal, Check, Money Order, or Wire Transfer).
